PTC CS-MLC Hot Knife Cutter

Cuts green tape to length from either a roll or prior to firing an assembly that has been bonded using the laminator. The tool is equipped with a heated knife typically heated to 75°C while the stage is heated to 50°C. The stage is controlled by left, right and theta controls with a built-in micrometer to insure accurate and repeatable cuts.

Fisher 750 Force Draft Furnace

The Fisher 750 force draft furnaces are for firing DuPont 951 GreenTape chemistry. The furnaces are programmed to ramp to at least two different temperatures, the first at 400°C to burn out the polymeric components that made the GreenTape flexible or malleable during processing while the second at 850oC to sinter the individual sheets together into one homogenized assembly.

Thermo Scientific 55.3L Box Furnace

The Thermo Scientific 55.3L box furnaces are for DuPont’s high frequency 9K7 GreenTape. The furnaces are programmed to ramp to at least two different temperatures, the first at 400°C to burn out the polymeric components that made the GreenTape flexible or malleable during processing while the second at 850°C to sinter the individual sheets together into one homogenized assembly.

USHIO MP4150SL Automatic Puncher

Two automated punch tools with a quad punch and die configuration capable of punching at eight per second. The size of the punches range from 50 microns to 2.4 mm. The tool is configured with a desktop PC to pull in NC data used to identify the coordinates for the punching. The software monitors punch status on a real-time basis as well as punch breaks. The two tools also have load and unload stations for automatic processing in pilot production mode.

SST International Model 3130 Vacuum/Pressure furnace

The programmable vacuum furnace is routinely used to obtain void-free solder joints without the use of flux. HiDEC purchased the HT option that can heat up to 1,000°C in an inert gas (4% hydrogen in nitrogen) from vacuum levels of below 50 mTorr to pressures exceeding 50 psig. Parts are heated on a graphite plate with up to four temperature probes that can be placed at different sites.
